Owner Kathy Kirchner holds the Executive Certificate in Home Modification (ECHM) through the University of Southern California School of Gerontology and is a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) through the National Association of Home Builders.
Kathy is an Occupational Therapist (OT) who specialized in treating neurological and orthopedic disabilities in clinical and home settings and worked in disability policy advising large employers about implementing the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Kathy has been a contractor for the Center for Innovative Care in Aging at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing in a study supporting people with dementia and their caregivers. She currently works for the D.C. Office on Aging's Safe at Home program through Home Care Partners and Habitat for Humanity of Metro Maryland’s CAPABLE (Community Aging in Place Advancing Better Living for Elders) program. She is a volunteer for Rebuilding Together Montgomery County and is a licensed OT in D.C., Maryland and Virginia.
